Chris Buford is a multidisciplinary Creative Director, Strategist, and Entrepreneur with an innate ability to connect ideas to today’s culture. A healthy mix of thinking, creating, and making ideas happen.
He has worked on projects ranging from brand strategy, creative direction, cultural marketing, copywriting, experience programming, brand partnerships, concept development and production.
His career in marketing began early as he worked to pay his way through school at New York University. While at NYU he became widely known for his influential connections to NYC’s downtown scene and was sought out by Nike to lead the brand's Global VPs on an exploratory trip through NYC, introducing them to the ever growing running culture.
In 2012, Chris started working with a variety of award winning creative agencies in New York including Sub Rosa, Anomaly and Mother New York. Since then he has had the great pleasure of working with an array of clients from small startups to larger, more established brands and companies.
Chris recently founded a creative studio + brand called Foul Studios focused on sports & culture. Supported by a small team of passionate creative collaborators, Foul exists to connect cultures, and inspire communities to explore, create and play outside the boundaries.
When he’s not working he’s staying active with sports, traveling, listening to podcasts, exploring NYC through the lens of a camera, or reading at McNally’s Jackson, his favorite bookstore.
Past work & clients include: Nike, Converse, Netflix, Adidas, Google, Headspace, PepsiCo, Mailchimp, Disney, TikTok, NYXL/ANDBOX (eSports/gaming), Calvin Klein, Levi’s, Target, TEDTalks, Wrangler, Snapbac, Stella Artois, Virgin Voyages, Duracell, GE, AXE, Anomaly, Mother NY/LA, Daughter Productions, Sub Rosa, MATTE, Young Hero, COMBO, Fred & Farid, The88, Bloomberg, Calm, P&G, Saturday Morning, The Spring Hill Company, KIN, Cartwright, Clorox (Kingsford, Burt's Bees, Hidden Valley), Monogram, Lobos 1707
